recovery

Standard

Just a quick update.

After rushing home for a quick lunch, I got a call from John’s program who said I needed to come right away to get him to take him to the hospital.  That he’d become aggressive and threatening at the program so I had to come get him.  So scratched my lunch, canceled my afternoon clients and ran over there.  Thankfully he went willingly.

It took over 3 hours to get him admitted which was “streamlined” compared to last time when we waited 6.

Finally got home at 8pm and ate my first meal of the day and now scrambling to find cat sitters for both our homes now that John won’t be able to do it while I’m away.

At least he’s safe and at least I have a break.  These last two weeks were grueling.  Today was the hardest.

This business is not for the weak.  But it sure can weaken even a strong person like me.

I hope they keep him for awhile so I can recover.

I want to disappear.

Please understand if I don’t blog for awhile.  Honestly nothing I have to say right now I want to put in this blog.

So, I’m preparing to skid right in to Rancho La Puerta on Saturday and hope to get some recovery there and actually some nourishment.  I sure wish I could stay two weeks.

Or a month.

Or the whole summer.

I’m so glad John is safe and you are headed for some rest and pampering. Rancho La Puerta looks perfect. Take all the time you need. You’ve more than earned it, Kathy.

  2. Glad all is calmer for you now. Take all the time you need before getting back with us. We will envision you having the most luxurious pampering and enjoying yourself. You need this time, Kathy. Go and put your all into letting this week skide into a distant memory.

I hope John does well. I will be thinking of both of you.

Kathy, I can really relate to the pet sitting issue. I have a big, dorky, enthusiastic dog that kicks and gets so excited he irritates some people. I love alone, rarely go out b/c of my own disabilities, so don’t have someone I trust that will watch my dog for me. I got real sick on Saturday, I considered going to the hospital, but didn’t b/c no one to watch my dog. My older sister lives next driveway over, but won’t speak to me over three years now, she has alienated all the siblings in our family,
long story short, not even my family will help
with my dog. So if I go away, he would have to
be placed in a concrete cage, which he has never experiences, and I really can’t afford. So although he is “just a dog” I think of him as my family and this has caused big problems with me. Sorry to ramble on, but I just wanted you to know that I know what it feels like to
Not have anyone you can go to when you actually need help. My neighbor downstairs doesn’t walk my dog because she can’t handle his “pooping”. Oh my God, it’s a one way “friendship”. I get her mail, help her do laundry, the list goes on and on. Sorry. Just saying, BEEN THERE. Praying you find cat sitters. You deserve some good luck! 😉 . If I was there I would gladly do it. My dog loves cats! Haha. LOVE.

On the selfish side I will miss you blogging but I know you need the break! You’ve been non-stop since the beginning of the year and you deserve to relax, regroup & decompress. If you chose to write, which I can see you doing, do it for YOU. Don’t post it until later if you want so you don’t get sucked into convos you don’t need or want. ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY your time away but miss us just a little lol love ya!

Wishing you the best. I hope you find the calm you need and deserve. Your mind, body, and soul need replenishment, and it is my sincerest hope that you achieve that. This is no time to conquer, it is time to retreat. I mean that in the most positive way. (((Hug)))

Kathy, enjoy every minute of your vacation. John will be well taken care of. It is time for you to take care of yourself.
